The e2eSoft VCam webcam emulator comes in handy whether you have a webcam or not. If you don’t have a webcam, it allows you to choose videos, images, Flash movies and other content to be displayed as the webcam stream. If you have a webcam, it comes with some special effects, plugins, free paint, and other features that are meant to enhance your webcam chat experience.

The system requirements for running e2eSoft VCam are quite low: Pentium processor, 128 MB of RAM memory, 64MB of free disk space, Directshow 8.0 or newer, Windows operating system (anything from Windows 2000 and XP up to Windows 7 and 8). A simple setup wizard will help you install e2eSoft VCam in the language of your choice – it must be mentioned here that the application provides support for a long list of languages.

At the top of the application's interface you will find the following buttons:
Source – select the media that will be used as the Vcam video source. You can use videos, images, video capture devices, DVD, mobile phones, external sources, and you can even take a screenshot of the whole desktop, a window, or a region.
Effects – provides easy access to the Special Effects, Plugins, Free Paint, Overlay, Text, and Karaoke features.
Tools – access the Snapshot and Video Recorder functions.
Options – play with the interface settings, view a list of hotkeys, change the camera settings, and more.

Let’s say that you don’t have a webcam but you want to trick someone into thinking you do. e2eSoft VCam works just like a real webcam – the main difference is that the person you’re chatting with won’t see whatever is presented in front of the webcam, that person will see the video source you selected. You can choose to present a video, an image, a screenshot, or other content to that person.

Now let’s say that you already have a webcam. You can use e2eSoft VCam to add special effects to your webcam chat, to draw on the webcam video, and more.

e2eSoft VCam’s functionality comes in handy whether you have a webcam or not. If you don’t, it puts a virtual webcam at your disposal. If you do, it provides a handy set of useful features.
